A TRIBUTE TO 30 YEARS OF FIRE+ICE
30 years of Fire+Ice collections - that means: numerous designs and enhancements regarding functionality. The limited anniversary looks feature prints with the iconic explosion jump. Tested by freeride professionals Bene Mayr, Laura Fritzenwallner and Sven Kueenle.
How did you become a freeskier?
I learned to ski when I was three years old. Since then it has been my passion. In freeskiing you can live this passion to the full.
How do you feel before you start a race?
I study the route and begin to imagine how I ride there - at some point I feel ready for it. There are all kinds of emotions involved, and living through them is the best feeling in the world.
Do you have a particular story you associate with Fire+Ice?The movie showed me what is possible in skiing - it had a strong influence on me. And it's a lot of fun being part of the crew today.
How do you feel when you get to the mountain?
I have a positive mindset and when I go skiing I am usually excited and full of energy. There is no room for fear or doubts.
What does being a freeskier mean to you today?
I think everyone wants to feel free. Sports and especially skiing are my ways of expressing myself, being creative and having fun.
We celebrate 30 years of Fire+Ice. What do you associate with the brand?
My projects with Bogner are always about pushing the boundaries. Daring something new is exciting and the brand conveys that feeling.
How did you become a freeski pro?
I started skiing early and was a member of the youth national team when all of a sudden freeskiing came up. I tried it and never returned to the normal ski race.
What fascinated you so much about it?
The ultimate feeling of freedom. When you freeski the whole mountain becomes a playground.
We celebrate 30 years of Fire+Ice. What do you associate with the brand today?
So many great stories have happened since I started riding for Bogner and Fire+Ice. Every year we have a really crazy photo shoot! We played the Phantom of the Opera on the mountain or jumped through the fire like James Bond.
